ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The following information is provided by:
Pinellas County Animal Control:

If you are unable to evacuate with your pet and are not able to board your pet at a veterinary or boarding facility, these two shelters should be considered as a last resort.

Here are TWO pet friendly shelters:

  The Old Palm Harbor Main Street
      
(located at 1190 Georgia Avenue in Palm Harbor)

The capacity of this shelter is 75 people and 75 pets (cats and dogs)

 The Judicial Building
(located at 545 1st Avenue North in St. Petersburg)

The capacity of this shelter is 400 people and 400 animals (dogs and cats)

Entry to the shelters will be granted by priority order: mobile homes, followed by evacuation zones A, B, C (in that order). A county license is also a prerequisite for use of these shelters.
